Wow Donna, that's a horrible thing to have happened to you hun.
lol at the 'looks like you've seen a ghost' though - you should deffo try saying that to 1 or 2 ppl.
From a personal point of view, I detest the way stories get changed when relayed from one person to another.
I had some really nasty despicable things said about me last year when I was going through a tough time in my personal life and had to leave my home town suddenly. It started when I confided in somebody who I thought was a friend and by the time it got round the town I was living in, I was labelled a mentally unstable psychopath, when in reality I had a nervous breakdown.
I suppose one funny side of it in my case though.... my daughter came home from school yesterday and said she had see somebody from her old school who heard I was dead!!!! So I guess that would explain the funny looks I get when out and about!! lol!!! Perhaps I should go up to people and say " you look like you have seen a ghost!" lol

I used to LOVE any gossip I heard about people, and was guilty myself of getting on the phone to friends saying " you won't believe what I've just heard....", but now wait untill I know the true facts before I say anything about somebody.
As for the ghost thing, I wonder if I should take to walking about in a white sheet, rattling chains to really freak people out!! lol

You could alway file your teeth into points and look hungrily at their necks heh heh heh
We need a vampire smiley!
Sorry that happened to you Donna.
Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see ... as the saying goes

Thats a good rule Donna, I try & follow that too, playground gossip especially can be viscious.

I think, although this is very hard to do when you know it is you who is being talked about, it is very important to always remember that you know the truth; you were there, you had that experience; you know things others don't. So when something comes back to you remember that you know the closest truth. And when you hear a story about someone else, remember that only 10% of it is based on fact. The other 90% is based on people's personal perceptions and often people's personal agendas.
I have had numerous experiences where I have heard, through the grapevine, things people are saying about me; and I used to take it all very personal, and I used to get terribly upset about it. Now, for the most part, I get a good laugh from it because some of it is so outlandish it's crazy! lol
OMG *THAT'S* what Chinese whispers means?! The Depeche Mode song finally makes sense now!! LOL
